A recent study published in SAE International by a research group out of Iowa State University (available here) demonstrates the ability of SurfEllent's coating to minimize ice buildup on the rotating fan blades of jet engines. Ice prevention and ice removal are critical topics for the aerospace industry, as in-flight icing can cause safety issues and equipment malfunctions, while on-the-ground icing can lead to lengthy delays and worsen passenger experiences.
